Anforderungen
- Master’s degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Strong classical stress analysis skills
- Experience with non-linear material modelling
- Experience with thermomechanical or thermal-structural analysis
- Experience correlating FE predictions with test data
- Background in solid rocket motor, propulsion, or energetic structures (advantage)
- Fluent English; German or French (advantage)
Aufgaben
- Conduct stress analysis using hand-calculations and FEA (linear, non-linear, static, dynamic)
- Simulate solid rocket motor structures and attachment loads
- Conduct non-linear simulations (geometric, material, contact mechanics)
- Perform thermomechanical analysis on metallic, composite, bonded, and polymeric structures
- Support experimental characterization of propellant, liner, and bonded joint materials
- Feed test results (lap shear, peel, tensile, DMA) into material models and allowables
- Correlate FE predictions against strain gauge, load, and thermal test data
- Validate and update FE models
- Prepare stress reports, margin-of-safety calculations, and design justification documentation
