Anforderungen
- PhD in computational biology, statistics, physics, machine learning, or related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience, with publications or open source tooling
- Strong quantitative reasoning and statistical intuition
- Ability to identify scientific questions, design investigations, and draw conclusions from biological data
- Experience analyzing high throughput sequencing data with focus on statistical analysis
- Experience collaborating with AI/ML researchers or applying AI/ML to scientific problems
- Familiarity with current AI/ML methods, including generative foundation models, representation learning, and model evaluation
- Familiarity with public biological datasets and high throughput assay data
- Capable programmer in Python and scientific computing libraries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex findings
- Availability to work with US and Europe team members across time zones
- Readiness to travel several times a year for company events
- Primarily work from office locations
- 3+ years post-PhD experience in computational biology, biostatistics, or ML research

- Identify valuable datasets
- Develop meaningful evaluations and benchmarks
- Investigate model behavior and generate insights
- Guide model development and data strategy
- Embrace learning outside traditional expertise
- Investigate how model performance changes with data
- Design and execute experiments to understand models
- Identify artifacts, bias, and noise in datasets
- Identify promising biological datasets for training
- Develop computational pipelines for data preprocessing
- Design studies to reveal model learning
- Translate biological questions into ML experiments
- Partner with AI researchers and engineers
- Prioritize research directions and data collection
- Analyze and visualize experimental findings
- Communicate findings to inform decisions
