Anforderungen
- Master's degree or equivalent in physics, engineering, chemistry, or related discipline
- Interest in chirality, molecular ions, ultrafast optics, and scientific instrumentation
- Strong background in atomic, molecular, and optical physics
- Proven experience with experimental laboratory research
- Femtosecond lasers experience
- Ion transfer optics / ion traps experience
- Charged particle detection experience
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Interest in experimental and theoretical research in interdisciplinary environment
- Previous experience in chirality, molecular ions, ultrafast optics, or instrumentation is advantageous
- Python programming experience preferred
- Must satisfy MSCA mobility rule (not resided/worked in Germany > 12 months in last 36 months)
- Must be doctoral candidates and not already hold a doctoral degree
- Eligibility verification under MSCA Doctoral Network conditions encouraged
Aufgaben
- Conduct research on ultrafast spectroscopy of chiral molecular ions
- Adapt electrospray ion source and related instrumentation
- Perform experiments with chiral molecular ions and femtosecond laser pulses
- Adapt hardware and software of a high-resolution Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer
- Develop an ion guide transfer system for extracting molecular ions
- Establish protocols for producing and accumulating negatively charged chiral molecular ions
- Conduct ion-optical simulations to optimize ion trap performance
- Integrate experimental control systems of the Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer and momentum spectrometer
- Perform, analyze, interpret, and publish Photoelectron Circular Dichroism experiments
- Explore opportunities to translate fundamental research into real-world applications
- Collaborate closely with international partners
- Undertake funded research stays with partner organizations
