- PhD in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Master’s degree with equivalent industrial experience
- Proven expertise in power system modelling and steady-state analyses (EMS and GMS applications)
- Knowledge of short and long-term energy and ancillary service markets
- Knowledge in mathematical optimization applied to power systems
- Knowledge of modern optimization techniques
- Experience with machine learning and/or artificial intelligence technologies
- Proven experience in software development using Python
- Proven experience in software development using Matlab
- Proven experience in software development using C/C++
- Openness to learn additional programming languages
- Experience with state-of-the-art software engineering techniques
- Experience integrating solution algorithms into applications
- High-performance computing skills (parallel/distributed and/or GPU computing)
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Team player attitude
- Motivation to learn
- Initiative and creativity
- German language skills or willingness to acquire them
Aufgaben
- Collaborate with a global and inter-disciplinary team of researchers
- Drive development from concept to robust MVP
- Partner with product/software teams to bring solutions to production
- Translate real power system problems into rigorous models
- Design computational experiments to quantify accuracy and robustness
- Ensure reproducibility with version control and data
- Build relationships within the company
- Actively share your knowledge and expertise
- Interact with local and global external partners
- Integrate diverse perspectives and stakeholder inputs
- Disseminate results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports
- Produce clear design docs and notebooks that enable reuse
