Anforderungen
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- 3+ years in accounting or financial control with German accounting focus
- Native or business-fluent German (written and spoken)
- Strong working knowledge of HGB, German tax law, VAT, and local regulatory requirements
- Deep understanding of German business and compliance environment
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High proficiency with Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently as primary on-site accounting resource in Germany
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
- Strong familiarity with DATEV accounting software (strongly preferred)
- Experience supporting or participating in external audit processes
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA
- Experience in financial services, fund administration, or corporate services industry
Aufgaben
- Perform day-to-day accounting for the German entity under HGB
- Manage general ledger postings, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Handle bank and cash accounting, and intercompany transactions
- Process expense accruals and payroll accounting
- Ensure VAT and other indirect tax compliance
- Manage German tax and compliance matters, including VAT returns and corporate tax provisions
- Handle trade tax and other statutory obligations
- Liaise with external tax advisers and authorities
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
- Resolve reconciling items for balance sheet accounts
- Prepare German statutory financial statements
- Complete local regulatory filings under HGB
- Support the German statutory audit process
- Prepare audit files and respond to auditor queries
- Assist in resolving audit findings
- Participate in a structured handover of processes and contacts
- Work with Shared Services teams on operational accounting tasks
- Ensure accounting outputs meet local requirements and quality standards
- Maintain accounting records in DATEV and other systems
- Contribute to system developments, including SAP S/4HANA implementation
- Provide support on financial analysis and projects
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from the Finance Manager
