- Prioritize requirements and document traceability
- Review requirements for errors and omissions
- Provide input to the requirements baseline
- Investigate and manage requests for changes to requirements
- Undertake complete design of software applications or components
- Assist in the design of larger software system components
- Specify user and/or system interfaces
- Create multiple design views for stakeholders
- Assist in evaluation of options and trade-offs
- Collaborate in reviews of work
- Design, code, verify, test, and document programs/scripts
- Apply agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered results
- Apply data analysis, design, and modelling techniques
- Advise on details of data structures and components
- Develop specialist knowledge of database concepts and architectures
- Assess proposed changes to object/data structures
- Implement physical database designs
- Implement data warehouse designs
- Define software modules for integration builds
- Accept completed software modules
- Produce software builds from source code
- Configure hardware and software environments
- Produce and conduct integration tests
- Diagnose faults and report test results
