- Practical security/compliance framework experience
- ISO 27001, SOC 2 or comparable frameworks
- Experience leading distributed, multi-country teams
- Willingness to travel regularly between sites (20-25%)
- Decision-making and prioritization skills
- Clear explanation to technical/non-technical people
- Hands-on terminal experience
- Experience merging/restructuring IT teams (plus)
- Fluent English communication
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- German language skills (advantage)
- Proven professional experience in Austria/Germany
- Understanding of local business practices/culture
- Experience leading multicultural, international teams
- Strong intercultural communication skills
- Ability to build trust and collaborate effectively
- Legal right to work in Austria
Aufgaben
- Unify workplace IT and platform operations teams
- Lead IT infrastructure from new laptops to production clusters
- Lead a distributed team of 8 engineers
- Coach engineers through pairing and code reviews
- Take on hard technical problems alongside your team
- Stay hands-on with critical infrastructure components
- Participate in on-call rotations
- Set technical standards by example
- Manage operations of SaaS infrastructure on AWS
- Manage a self-hosted Kubernetes cluster
- Oversee around 350 virtual servers
- Manage workplace IT for 200 users
- Manage devices and device management
- Manage VPN and office networks
- Manage firewalls and accounts
- Provide user support
- Build a consistent identity and access management model
- Manage Microsoft 365 / Entra ID
- Implement SSO and 2FA
- Manage password policies
- Manage DNS and domains
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Set priorities and SLAs
- Establish an effective on-call setup
- Drive security and compliance initiatives
- Manage ISMS and GDPR compliance
- Ensure audit readiness
- Address NIS2 requirements
- Manage the IT budget
- Oversee vendors and hosting contracts
- Control cloud and hosting costs
- Standardize and automate infrastructure as code
- Maintain documentation and runbooks
- Manage ticketing systems
- Serve as the infrastructure decision counterpart for product, engineering, and management
