- Handle new hire contracts
- Establish Fonio's legal foundations, including templates and processes
- Select and manage external law firms
- Assess and strategize on disputes and litigation
- Steer external counsel in disputes and litigation
- File and defend trademarks and IP
- Protect company technology
- Handle open source and licensing matters
- Manage corporate law and compliance for EU, UK, and US entities
- Support new country incorporations
- Brief external law firms and advisors
- Manage budgets for external law firms and advisors
- Ensure quality of work from external law firms and advisors
- Collaborate with external experts on data protection matters
- Ensure GDPR compliance
- Draft data processing agreements
- Handle customer data requests
- Manage voice data processing
- Act as a legal resource for Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams
- Deliver pragmatic, fast, and understandable legal advice
