- Transform messy documents into structured information
- Ensure approach holds up across domains
- Review current information extraction approaches
- Design and implement clean, modular, well-tested Python extraction pipelines
- Build annotated datasets and measure extraction quality
- Handle document variety: layouts, languages, scan quality, edge cases
- Document work and present to technical and non-technical audiences
