- Design and govern multi-cloud platform architectures
- Define patterns for networking, security, identity, compute, storage, and observability
- Establish architectural principles, standards, reusable patterns, and reference implementations
- Apply FinOps practices to increase cost transparency and efficiency
- Devise a charging model for platform operations
- Steer modernization, increasing automation and self-service capabilities
- Drive adoption of cloud-native patterns
- Translate technology trends into a pragmatic technology roadmap
- Steer platform development toward cost efficiency, automation, and self-service
- Co-own the relationship with Databricks
- Identify emerging technologies and use cases with Databricks
- Collaborate on opportunities with Databricks
- Guide service teams in designing and implementing reusable platform capabilities
- Help prioritize work for service teams
- Provide technical guidance by spearheading key initiatives
- Contribute to proofs of concept for new technologies and patterns
- Coordinate strategic, tactical, and operational resourcing
- Establish and maintain processes for incident and problem reporting
- Own maintenance and adoption of platform security concepts
- Ensure governance evolves alongside technology and customer landscape
