- Critical SQL expertise
- Familiarity with Git-based version control
- Familiarity with CI/CD principles
- Familiarity with testing frameworks for data code
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (or AWS/Azure)
- Understanding of cloud data warehouse/lakehouse architecture
- Analytical thinking for complex data problems
- Ability to propose and evaluate solutions
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to translate requirements into data engineering solutions
- Fluent Business English
- Intermediate German minimum
Aufgaben
- Design and build production-grade data pipelines on Databricks
- Use Databricks Workflows, Spark SQL, and Python for data pipelines
- Create data solutions that are fast to implement, cheap to maintain, and highly reliable
- Lead the adoption of Databricks best practices across the team
- Optimize Delta Lake, Photon queries, cost governance, and performance
- Document and teach Databricks best practices to teammates
- Architect scalable lakehouse solutions for analytics and operational workloads
- Apply modern design patterns like medallion architecture and data mesh principles
- Mentor and upskill the team in Databricks
- Conduct code reviews, pair-programming sessions, and knowledge-sharing workshops
