- Identify and evaluate alternative architectures and trade-offs
- Produce specifications for cloud-based or on-premises components and interfaces
- Support change programs by preparing technical plans and applying design principles
- Investigate operational needs and recommend improvements to processes
- Assist in defining acceptance tests for recommendations
- Contribute to the selection of requirements approaches
- Define and manage scoping, requirements definition, and prioritization
- Facilitate stakeholder input and challenge requirements
- Review requirements for errors and omissions
- Establish requirements baselines and ensure traceability
- Manage authorized requests for changes to baselined requirements
- Design components using appropriate modeling techniques and standards
- Identify and evaluate alternative design options and trade-offs
- Create multiple design views for stakeholders
- Model, simulate, or prototype proposed system components
- Produce detailed design specifications for construction
- Review and verify own designs against specifications
- Design software components and modules using agreed standards
- Create and communicate multiple design views for software
- Recommend designs considering target environment, performance, and security
- Review and verify own software designs against specifications
- Lead reviews of others' software designs
- Model, simulate, or prototype proposed software
- Verify software design by constructing and applying methods
- Design, code, verify, test, document, amend, and refactor programs and services
- Contribute to the selection of software development approaches
- Apply agreed standards and tools for well-engineered outcomes
- Participate in reviews of own work
- Lead reviews of colleagues' work
- Investigate corporate data requirements and apply data modeling techniques
- Provide advice and guidance on data structures
