- Education as technical assistant (BTA, MTA, CTA)
- Experience in mammalian and insect cell culture and/or working with viruses
- Solid knowledge of molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and cell biology techniques
- Comfort with technical, computer-controlled equipment
- Interest in learning new procedures
- Enjoyment of working in an international and interdisciplinary team
- Good written and spoken English and German
- Very good organizational skills

- Perform experimental work in structural cell biology
- Perform experimental work in protein regulation
- Support general lab functions
- Provide technical support to department members
- Maintain and grow cell cultures, especially insect cell culture
- Perform transfection and/or infection for protein production
- Conduct protein expression experiments via column chromatography
- Conduct protein purification experiments via column chromatography
- Perform standard molecular biology experiments
- Perform difficult molecular biology experiments
- Perform cloning experiments
- Perform nucleic acid purification
- Perform nucleic acid analysis
- Control experimental results
- Care for lab equipment
- Operate lab equipment
- Assist with stock control
- Assist with lab organization
- Assist with lab environment care
- Prepare media
- Prepare buffers
- Perform general lab tasks
